colloca tra quelle colline del Sud Piemonte conosciute per la loro ricchezza culturale e umana e dal 2014 riconosciute come <strong>Patrimonio dell&#8217;Umanit\u00e0<\/strong> per i loro<strong> paesaggi vitivinicoli<\/strong>, frutto della stretta relazione lunga secoli tra l&#8217;azione umana e la terra. Il borgo conta oggi 857 abitanti e si estende su di una superficie di 6,86 Kmq.<\/p><p style=\"text-align: left;\"><strong>Cenni Storici.<\/strong> Mongardino, dopo i primi e remoti stanziamenti dei Liguri, \u00e8 stata terra dalle sicure origini romane, come testimonia la lapide funeraria romana rinvenuta nella casa detta il Palazzo, (Palatium), ora custodita presso il museo archeologico di Asti. Fu ducato sotto i Longobardi e contea, o marca, sotto i Franchi.
